Mission Statement

The mission of the City Clerk’s Office is to accurately record and preserve the actions of the City Council, safeguard vital, historic and permanent records of the City, providing information and support to the City Council, City Staff and the Public in a timely, courteous and fiscally responsible manner; and administering open and free elections.


The City Clerk plays a crucial role in local elections by overseeing various aspects of the electoral process. Responsibilities typically include managing voter registration, ensuring the accuracy of election results, coordinating polling locations, and distributing election materials. They also work to facilitate candidate filings and assist in the administration of absentee and early voting, helping to uphold the integrity and accessibility of the democratic process at the municipal level.
