2024 Rochester Rec Summer Camp

At Rochester Rec, we believe the recipe for a great summer is simple: provide a safe environment, keep kids outside, active and having fun! Role model staff engage campers in a day full of outdoor activities, games, swim and crafts. Camp takes place rain or shine, with indoor activities in the Rec Center Gym. For over 60 years Rec Camp has provided generations of Rochester youth with positive childhood experiences and a sense of belonging. We look forward to welcoming our camp families, old and new, into this community tradition! 

All families are expected to read the Family & Camper Handbook. 

Camp Location: 
All campers attend Summer Camp at the Rec Center. The Rec Center Facility includes the high school soccer field and volleyball courts, Hanson Pines, Hanson Pines Pool and Kiddie Pool, the Hanson Pines playground and basketball court, and adjacent “Triangle” field. Indoor areas include the Rec Center Gym and conference rooms.  

2024 Camp Schedule: 
Summer camp runs Monday-Friday, June 24-August 16. No camp Thursday, 7/4. Campers must sign up for the full 8 weeks. There is no part time option. We will be taking 3 State Park Field trips this year!  
 
Camp Day Schedule: 
7:30am-9:00am    Pre Camp/Sign In 
9:00am-4:00pm   Structured Camp Day 
4:00pm-5:30pm Post Camp/Sign Out 
The full 7:30am-5:30pm day is included in camp tuition.

Age Requirements: 
Min: 6 Years Old, Must have completed 1st grade. 
Max: 12 Years Old, Must be 12 on the first day of camp. Must meet the expectations of “Camp Leaders” 
Campers will be split into age groups of 6 years old-9 years old and 10 years old-12 years old.

Camp Tuition: 

• Rochester Residents: $700 per camper for the full 8-week summer 
• Non-Rochester Residents: $900 per camper for the full 8-week summer 
• Campers must sign up for the full 8-week summer-there is no part time option. 
• Applications for our financial aid program, Camp Aid, will open February 12th.

Please be aware: we are no longer taking applications for Camp Aid.

Registration Information: 
Please note: A parent/legal guardian must be the person registering the camper and signing the liability release waiver. 

• Rochester Resident Registration opens on Friday, March 1st at 9:30am
• Non-Resident registration opens on Wednesday, May 1st, if space is still available. 
• The registration deadline for all campers is May 15th at 9:30am. 

How to Register: 
Registration will be available online and in the Rec Office. Mail in registrations will not be accepted. A non-refundable $125 deposit per camper is due at time of registration. This amount goes toward the overall tuition amount. 

The full camp tuition balance must be paid no later than June 14th. 

• Tuition may be paid in cash, check or credit cards. 
• Checks should be made out to the City of Rochester. 
• All credit card transactions are charged a 2.99% fee, plus an additional $0.25.  
• All Rochester Residents should have proof of Rochester Residency available for both online and in office registration
