Board of Ethics
The Board of Ethics ordinance was adopted by the Rochester City Council on 12-5-23. The ordinance allows the creation of a Board of Ethics on an ad hoc basis.
When formed, the Board of Ethics consists of three members: a member from the School Board appointed by the Chair of the School Board, a member of the Police Commission appointed by the Chair of the Police Commission, and a member of the City Council appointed by the Mayor.
For each activation of the Board of Ethics, an Ethics Investigation Officer (EIO) is appointed by the City Manager to assist with the investigation and prosecution of any complaint which has been deemed sufficient and referred to the Board for investigation.
