2024 - 2025 Tags Available in City Clerk's Office

To use the online system for a dog that has not previously been licensed in Rochester, the City Clerk's office will need to set up an account for you and your dog(s). Please email proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination to cityclerk@rochesternh.gov to start an account. 


Licensing a New Dog

New dogs and puppies are required to be registered two weeks from the date of their rabies vaccination. Veterinarians are required by law to inform the Clerk's Office of all rabies shots given. The following fees apply.

Puppies (less than 7mo)$7.50
Neutered/Spayed Dogs$7.50
Adult Dogs (not spayed/neutered)$10.00
Dog owned by senior Citizen (65+)(limit 1 dog)$3.00
Transfer from another NH Town$1.50

Group License

  • For owners of 5 or more dogs. 
  • $20.00 per group license ( each dog will still receive an individual license and tag number)

Rabies Clinic - Saturday, May 11, 2024 (12pm to 2pm)

  • Rochester Ice Arena: 63 Lowell Street, Rochester, NH 03867 
  • CASH ONLY ($20) Cats must be in a carrier and dogs must be on a leash.
  • The Deputy City Clerk will be available (onsite) to license dog(s) for Rochester residents. (regular license fees apply)
