Outdoor Public Pools

All Pools are OPEN for the Summer.

The City of Rochester has 3 public pools that are available to Rochester residents. 

Locations

  • East Rochester Pool
    Green Street/Cocheco Ave, East Rochester, NH 03868
    Located in the back of the former Nancy Loud School on Green Street off Portland Ave.
    Public Swim:
    • Monday &Tuesday: 11:30am-6pm
    • Wednesday & Friday: 2:15pm-6pm
    • Thursday: 1pm-6pm
    • Saturday & Sunday: 12pm-6pm
  • Gonic Pool
    8 Railroad Ave., Gonic, NH 03839
    Located at Gonic School on Railroad Ave off Pickering Road.
    Public Swim:
    • Monday - Friday: 2:30pm-6pm
    • Saturday & Sunday: 12pm-6pm
  • IMPORTANT NOTE ON GONIC POOL: The bridge on Pickering Road (right next to the pool) will be closed for construction from June 22nd-August 26th. 

    • Best detour route:
      Old Dover Road to Tebbetts Road
      Right onto Pickering Road
      Right onto Railroad Ave

  • Hanson Pines Pool & Kiddie Pool
    24 Yeagley Way, Rochester, NH 03867
    Located on Yeagley Way in front of the Spaulding High School.
    Public Swim
    • Monday - Friday: 2:30pm-6pm
    • Saturday & Sunday: 12pm-6pm

Public Swim

Public Swim is free and open to Rochester Residents only. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Adults are required to show proof of residency when entering the pool facility. Youth age 12-17 must show ID if unaccompanied by an adult. Acceptable forms of ID are school ID or infinite campus screen shot. Youth in possession of a driver's license or state ID may use that. Youth who live in Rochester but do not possess any of the previously mentioned forms of ID may contact the Rec Office to obtain a Rochester Youth Pool Pass. 

Senior Swim

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 1:15pm-2:15pm at the Gonic Pool. Open to anyone age 50 and older. Drop-in, no registration required.

Adult Lap Swim

Weekdays 12pm-1pm at the Gonic Pool. Open Rochester residents age 18 and older with ID (or other form of residency verification). Drop-in, no registration required.

Rules

  • In the event of thunder and/or lightning, the pools will be closed for 30 minutes AFTER the last visual of lightning or audible thunder. The lifeguards make the determination as to when the pool will open again after waiting the REQUIRED 30 minutes.
