Christmas on the Common Cancelled due to weather

cancelled
Event Date:
Saturday, December 14, 2019 (All day)
Due to the rainy forecast on Saturday 12/14, our team has decided to cancel the Christmas on the Common event.  With the anticipated rain, we want to avoid a messy, muddy event that would not be the top quality experience we want for our customers and staff. We thank you in advance for your understanding and we hope to plan a new, family friendly event later this winter! Stay tuned!
In the meantime, please read below to learn about two longtime Rochester holiday traditions, Christmas Village & Skate With Santa!

Start a new holiday tradition with the Rochester Rec, Rochester Police Department and Rochester Fire Department at our second annual Christmas on the Common!

Saturday December 14th

4:00pm – 9:00pm

Christmas on the Common is a free community event that will include:

  • A meet & greet with Santa! Santa will be seeing visitors from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Bring your cameras and letters!
    • If you would like a letter in return from Santa, please include child's first and last name on their letter to Santa.  Santa's elves will deliver the letters to the Rec December 20th and be available for pickup after that.
  • Christmas carols by Granite State Choral Society 4:00pm-6:00pm
  • Hot chocolate bar with the Dunkin' Donuts helpers
  • Gingerbread cookies
  • S'mores
  • Christmas lights in the park
  •  We will feature 2 holiday short movies on an inflatable screen
  • Fire pits

This is an outdoor event so please dress warm and bring your own chairs and blankets to enjoy the movie. As long as the weather is not too bad Christmas on the Common will take place.  *We will update www.RochesterRec.com and Facebook by 12pm Saturday, December 14th.  We hope to see you there!

*There will not be a Rain Date.
