2024 Counselor in Training Program

Rec Summer Camp CIT Program

The Rec Counselor in Training program will be an educational and recreational program that helps teens develop the skills and attributes necessary to be a successful summer camp counselor. The program will focus on team building, service projects, and outdoor activities. CITs will work with counselors, administrative staff, pool staff, and other members of the community to learn the ins and outs of being a summer camp counselor. Open to a max of 6 participants, application required. Applications open March 4th and close March 29th. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis, and a decision letter will go out April 12th. Applications can be submitted to the Rec office at 150 Wakefield St, Suite #1 or by email to jeffrey.turgeon@rochesternh.gov. Please note: email will be the primary means of communication for this program.

The Rec Camp Counselor in Training program will run alongside our regular summer camp, Monday-Friday, June 24-August 16. No camp Thursday, 7/4. CITs must sign up for the full 8 weeks. There is no part time option.
